Joseph Farah is founder, editor and CEO of WorldNetDaily and a nationally syndicated columnist with Creators Syndicate. His book Taking America Back: A Radical Plan to Revive Freedom, Morality and Justice has gained new-found popularity in the wake of November's election. Farah also edits the online intelligence newsletter Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin, in which he utilizes his sources developed over 30 years in the news business.
Conservative media outlets such as WorldNetDaily can certainly take credit for informing citizens with the truth, information that has inspired the Tea Party movement and resulted in conservative political victories in places like Virginia, New Jersey, and as we saw yesterday, in Massachusetts.
In retrospect, Farah said that about 30 years ago, when he asked news veterans what the central role is of a free press in a free society, the reply was that the job of the press was to serve as a watchdog on government and other powerful institutions. Today, however, Farah said you’ll get a lot of bizarre answers to that question ranging from being there to inform, to being fair and balanced, or to be entertaining. He noted that seeking the truth won’t be one of the answers because they don’t even believe in truth.
So how will liberal Democrats keep their seats in Washington in November in light of the grassroots desire for truth by many citizens and the backlash that it has spawned? Farah believes that Democrats may try to quietly establish universal voter registration.
Other topics covered included: The United Nations threat to the Internet, Obama’s eligibility to be president, Fox News, how the media is laying the groundwork for greater government control, and more.
