Bob Chapman is an expert on world politics and economics. His newsletter, The International Forecaster, has active subscribers all across world and his articles have run in more than 200 publications.
The national debt is over $12 trillion and the budget deficit is over $1 trillion. It's unlikely our economy can sustain itself without the health care bill, yet the Obama administration wants to saddle Americans with a health plan that will allegedly cost around $1.4 trillion over 10 years.
To help pay for this bill, Obama has proposed cuts to medicare spending. Will these cuts actually happen and if they do become reality, what will it mean for seniors who depend on it?
If passed, the bill won't take effect until 2013, yet the government appears to want to get a "head start" on paying for it by beginning taxation immediately. Will this damage our struggling economy even more?
Bob Chapman covers these questions and more as the first half of this Crosstalk takes a serious, long range look at ObamaCare.
The second portion of Crosstalk looks at the Manhattan Declaration. This is a declaration of unity from leaders of varying segments within Christianity stating that they will not tolerate or even obey government laws that violate their religious conscience on issues such as gay marriage and abortion. While this declaration is an affirmation of religious rights, it is not a statement of agreement concerning theology.
