William P. Farley is the pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship in Spokane, Washington. He's the author of Gospel-Powered Parenting: How the Gospel Shapes and Transforms Parenting.
Books on "right" or "correct" parenting abound. The problem is, even in the Christian realm, how many books on parenting are truly gospel centered?
Originally designed to be a book on fatherhood, William eventually ended up with a book that expresses things that he feels no one else was saying on the issue of parenting. Specifically, he wanted to communicate that Christian parents can't simply protect their children from worldly influences and think they've done their job. They need to steer their children to the new birth as described in the gospel as this will help children themselves to overcome the world.
Additional specifics of gospel powered parenting that were discussed include: What is Godward vs. childward parenting; the first principle of parenting; the foundation of proper discipline, as well as other helpful insights.
