Jim Jacobson is president and founder of Christian Freedom International, an organization dedicated to helping and supporting the persecuted church around the world. He served as a policy analyst in the Reagan White House, served as political appointee in the administration of George Herbert Walker Bush, and was a senior legislative assistant in the U.S. Senate.
Jim has personally brought aid, smuggled Bibles, and provided advocacy to Christians in many countries in the past 10 years. He frequently travels into restricted countries-overtly and covertly-where Christians are severely persecuted for their faith, including active war zones.
This edition of Crosstalk looked at the persecuted church, with particular focus on North Korea. What's it like to live as a Christian in North Korea? Jacobson gave an example from June of this year. Ri Hyon Ok, a 33 year old mother of three, was executed before a firing squad for distributing a Bible. She was also accused of spying for South Korea and the United States. Her husband, children and parents were sent to a political prison the day after the execution.
Jim Schneider and Jim Jacobson also discussed the increasing numbers of individuals coming to Christ in spite of persecution, Bill Clinton's visit with Kim Jong Il, what kind of aid can be given to persecuted Christians, and more.
