Justice For All? Sotomayor Confirmation Analysis

Host:Jim Schneider
Guest:Mat Staver
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Mathew D. Staver is the Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, and serves as Dean of Liberty University School of Law. He is a trustee for the Supreme Court Historical Society.

Mat has authored hundreds of articles and written 11 books, including Eternal Vigilance: Knowing and Protecting Your Religious Freedom, Take Back America, and Same-Sex Marriage: Putting Every Household at Risk.

During the early moments of this edition of Crosstalk, Jim and Mat mention two issues of importance to all listeners. They included:

--A National Religious Broadcasters alert urging people to call their congressmen to ask for an up or down vote on the Walden-Pense Broadcaster Freedom Amendment. This amendment is favorable to religious broadcasting and would help stop the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

--Senate Bill 909, the Hate Crimes Bill. This bill, that would protect pedophiles and clearly impact free speech, may see a vote on the Senate floor this week, possibly as early as tomorrow.

The main subject of this Crosstalk is the Sonya Sotomayor hearings and her possible confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court in light of her views on the right to life, the Second Amendment, the death penalty, and more.
