News reports continue to chronicle citizen unrest in Iran. This unrest is due to election results claiming to show that Mir-Hossein Mouisavi was the runnerup in the presidential election to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
From this perspective, Crosstalk presented two guests. The first quarter hour featured Jim Phillips. Jim is the Senior Research Fellow for Middle Eastern Affairs at the Douglas and Sarah Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation. He has written extensively on Middle Eastern issues and international terrorism since 1978.
Jim briefly covered a number of issues dealing with Iran such as how their government works, how their candidates get on the ballot, to how Barack Obama has reacted to the unrest.
The next guest to join Jim Schneider was Joseph Hovsepian. Joseph was born in 1973 in Iran. He started with event filming and editing at the age of 17. After dedicating three years of full time involvement in the Audio-Visual field, he found his interest and challenge in the field of cinema. After the martyrdom of his father’s, Rev. Haik Hovsepian, in 1994 in Iran, he focused his films on spiritual themes. Joseph studied Film & Cinema at Guildford Art School in England and since 1998 has started working full time producing and directing.
Soon after immigrating to CA in 2000, he founded the JFA productions (Joseph Film & Animation, LLC) and ever since has produced work for TV and Satellite stations, as well as his independent projects.
Joseph gave an overview of the religious landscape in Iran and how this affects Christians, especially in the area of persecution. For example, he discusses what happens if someone converts to Christianity, how Iranian Christians are responding to the election, how American Christians can support believers in Iran, and more.
