Tom Fitton is the President of Judicial Watch, a public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption. With 20 years experience in conservative public policy, Tom has helped lead Judicial Watch since 1998 and has overseen its tremendous growth and success in recent years. Under his leadership, Judicial Watch was named one of Washington’s top ten most effective government watchdog organizations by The Hill newspaper.
The census has been moved from the Commerce Department to the White House. It's an age old institution that goes back to the founding of our Constitution. It's used to dole out money and benefits based upon population in terms of federal funding. Preparations for the latest census are in progress even now as door-to-door workers do electronic "tagging" of American homes.
What is of concern is involvement in the census by A.C.O.R.N. According to Tom, A.C.O.R.N. is a radical left-wing group that pushes for more welfare spending as well as more Democrats in office. They are a national partner with the census. They have the ability to send resumes and applicants to the Census Bureau who then has the choice whether or not to hire these applicants.
Vic also presented information concerning the Obama birth certificate controversy and the Iranian election, with Crosstalk listeners providing their comments to round out the hour.
