Brad O'Leary is the author of 11 best selling books including his latest, Shut Up America! The End of Free Speech. In addition to serving as President of ATI-News, he's Chairman of the Board of PM Direct and is the former President of the American Association of Political Consultants. Brad is also the publisher of "The O'Leary Report".

Discussed were a number of proposed moves to restrict speech in America, starting with the "Fairness Doctrine" for broadcasters (probably under a different name), but also including bills like the one already being considered which would restrict "hate speech" by all Americans.

But the right to free speech didn't come freely in America, it came at a price. If we're going to maintain it, vigilance is necessary because in our day, this principle is under assault by liberal forces.

The public is seeing the boldness of those who disagree with conservative views as demonstrated when president Obama commented about Rush Limbaugh. More recently, some cable news personalities used the recent taxpayer protests to make filthy, frat house style jokes.

What does our government have in mind for broadcasters? Is the Internet susceptible to the stifling of free speech as well? Does the Fairness Doctrine live up to its name? These questions and more are examined on this edition of Crosstalk.
