Jim Kouri is the Fifth Vice-President of the National Association of the Chiefs of Police. His ability to speak on the subject of drug enforcement is based upon his experience as former chief at a New York City housing project in Washington Heights nicknamed, "Crack City" by reporters back in the 1980's. He also served as director of public safety at a New Jersey university, director of security for several major organizations, as well as having served on the National Drug Task Force.
Jim writes for numerous police and security magazines and currently serves as a staff writer for the New Media Alliance.
Jim believes that the current violence taking place at the U.S./Mexican border shows the fruits of our non-labor. He reported that the body count on the Mexican side is estimated at about 6,000, and that Phoenix, Arizona, is now the number two capital of kidnapping and abductions in the world due to illegal immigration. Toss in the specter of organized crime problems south of the border, and it could be said that our dilemma at the Mexican border may pose a greater terrorism threat than the one that exists from the Middle East.
From border enforcement, to crime syndicates, to early release of prisoners, and more, if national security and sovereignty is of concern to you, you'll want to review this edition of Crosstalk.
