Larry Pratt is the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, a position he's held for 30 years. GOA is a national membership organization comprised of 300,000 members dedicated to promoting the second amendment freedom to keep and bear arms. GOA lobbies for the pro-gun position in Washington and is involved in firearm issues in the states. Their work includes providing legal assistance to those involved in lawsuits with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
This Crosstalk focuses on a piece of legislation known as Senate Bill S22. This legislative "land grab" would expand the amount of land owned by the National Park Service, land that is currently subject to a gun ban.
Also noted is how Democrats crafted S22 out of over 150 separate pieces of legislation that never passed out of Congress. So far, anti-gun legislators have managed to protect S22 from alteration by its opponents, and if passed, it will not allow for any amendments whatsoever.
