Dr. Carl Werner received his undergraduate degree in biology, with distinction, at the University of Missouri, graduating summa cum laude. He received his doctoral degree in medicine at the age of 23. He was the recipient of the Normal D.Jones Science Award and was the executive producer of the "Evolution: The Grand Experiment" video series. More recently, he has authored the book, Evolution: The Grand Experiment, and Living Fossils - Evolution: The Grand Experiment Vol.2 will be released soon.

February marks the 200th Anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth. There will be uncounted celebrations ranging from talk programs to documentaries, to dramatic productions, plus museum exhibits devoted to Darwin, and more specifically, to the theory of evolution which he posited in his book, The Origin of Species. On Feb. 12, public schools will celebrate Darwin Day. There will even be "Evolution Sundays" in many liberal churches this week, with sermons celebrating Darwin's theory, claiming that it is compatible with Christian teachings.

Dr. Werner began studying evolution in college, after being challenged to do so. The study grew into exhaustive research into fossils, in which he examined whether they support the theory of evolution, and gradual changes over millions of years. Out of this research came his video series, and now his books, which highlight many "living fossils" that are still alive today.
