Eleanor Rossman currently serves as the Executive Director for "Pennsylvania for Marriage", a state-wide advocacy group to protect and strengthen marriage. Eleanor formerly was the State Outreach Coordinator for U.S. Senator Rick Santorum. She has experience in organizing outreaches and building grassroots coalitions.

Many who stand for family values are already seeing the war against the family from the Obama Administration. The Inauguration hadn't even finished before the White House website was promoting our new President's plans for gay rights, implementing new hate crimes legislation, etc.

Eleanor Rossman believes that it is vital that every state have a marriage amendment in their state constitution, restricting recognition of marriages to unions between one man and one woman. That is the only way to block moves by activist judges to overturn legislation designed to do the same thing by calling it "unconstitutional".

Four ways that same-sex families have negative effects on children and on society are:

-Same-sex families always deny children either their mother or father

-Schools will be forced to teach the homosexual family is normal

-Same-sex family is a vast, untested social experiment with children

-Churches could be legally forced to perform same-sex ceremonies.

In addition, once "gay marriage" is legalized, acceptance of same-sex marriage will not be optional. Not to do so would become illegal, subject to fines and/or jail terms, as has already taken place in Canada and in Scandinavia where such unions are recognized. In fact, we are seeing more stories of Americans being sued successfully for discrimination in various parts of the country for simply refusing to offer business services to same-sex couples.

Hate Crimes legislation has already been written and began working its way through Congress, but was halted because of a promised veto by former President George W. Bush. President Obama has promised to sign such legislation. The situation is much the same for the Freedom of Choice Act which would remove all laws restricting abortion, and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act which requires the hiring of homosexuals.

Eleanor says that those who favor traditional marriage must not sit back and wait until it is marginalized and the criminal penalties are in place. They must stand up and continue to contact officials and legislators with the firm stand to protect One Man-One Woman Marriage in this country.
