Jim presented a number of current news stories and then invited listeners to call in with comments. Some of the stories covered:
-Barack Obama may pick the woman who introduced the abortion drug while at the FDA under President Clinton, to head the agency in his administration
-Democratic Rep. John Conyers from Michigan, is opposed to the Obama potentially picking pro-abortion CNN reporter Sanjay Gupta as his Surgeon General
-Pepsi has donated more than a million dollars to homosexual groups, but refuses to give to organizations that oppose homosexuality
-Sellers of used children’s products, such as thrift stores and consignment stores, are not required to certify that those products meet the new lead limits, but other stores and distributors will be required to subject all children's products to expensive testing before they can be sold.
-Stunned at the prospect of a $1.2 trillion deficit this fiscal year, lawmakers in Congress are taking a harder look at how big a stimulus plan America can afford.
-The chief of the Texas Department of Transportation announces that the "Trans-Texas Corridor as it is known, no longer exists", but some fear it could come back under a different name as a part of the larger NAFTA Superhighway project.
