Best of Crosstalk (First Aired November 24, 2008)

Doug Phillips is the Director of Vision Forum Ministries. Vision Forum Ministries is a discipleship and training ministry that emphasizes Christian apologetics, worldview training, multi-generational faithfulness and creative solutions so that fathers can play a maximum role in family discipleship.

Doug described The Shelby Kennedy Foundation, a foundation that was set up to memorialize the work of a young Christian missionary woman named Shelby Kennedy who died of cancer on May 31, 2005. In honor of her testimony the foundation is encouraging the entire nation to develop their Bible literacy skills. The mission is to see hundreds of thousands of Christians more deeply girded in the knowledge of the Word of God through memorization and also to reach out to others.

To do this, Vision Forum has established a national "Bible Bee" competition that will require participants to learn Bible facts along with memorizing portions of Scripture. It will begin with local bees and ultimately end with a two day national Bible bee that will offer signficant prizes.
