Dr. Richard Landes is a Harvard and Princeton educated historian and documentary film maker who is currently a Boston University professor. He is the Director and co-founder of the Center for Millennial Studies and has written several books and articles.
Dr. Landes believes that, in an effort to bolster the Bush legacy, the current administration is pushing for Israel to sign a diplomatic agreement that would result in the formation of a Palestinian state before he leaves office in January. This Palestinian state would consist of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and parts of Jerusalem.
Along with the Palestinian state question, Dr. Landes defines what he refers to as "Pallywood." This involves staged incidents for the world media and how this affects the world's perception of the Middle East conflict.
