There is a new breed of fundamentalism in this country. It's a militant secular fundamentalism that is challenging our Western heritage of freedom and individual rights.
The radical secularists are small in number but their influence in many institutions and the media is broad. This is especially problematic because America must somehow stand up to the challenge of radical Islam. However, radical secularists make this challenge more difficult than it needs to be when they insist that all of us operate under a paradigm of relativism that preaches tolerance at all costs.
