Obama's Acceptance Speech/Sarah Palin V.P. Pick

Host:Vic Eliason
Guest:Bob Beauprez
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Bob Beauprez is a former US Congressman from Colorado and the Colorado chairman for the Coalition for a Conservative Majority. CCM was founded early this year by Ken Blackwell and Tom DeLay. Bob has launched a new website and e-magazine called A Line of Sight, which focuses on common-sense solutions to America's policy issues, and is writing his first book. He has also accepted the position of President of the new Rocky Mountain Community Foundation which is focused on promoting free market principles, entrepreneurship, and traditional values.

With the celebration last evening at the Democratic National Convention and today's announcement by John McCain that he has chosen Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate, there's plenty of excitement taking place on "both sides of the aisle."

Bob described last night's Democratic convention proceedings as "...typical Democrat populist politics." He wants to see someone who can do more than make us feel good. Bob wants a candidate that can be a "steady hand on the wheel" that clings to the Judeo-Christian principles in making the kind of judgments that need to be made from the oval office.

According to Bob, Sarah Palin is an outdoors woman; a conservative, common sense environmentalist; and an expert on energy issues and policy. Bob feels she will energize social conservatives who may have had reservations up to this point concerning John McCain.

As the program moves along, Bob discusses how he expects the Republicans to focus on the Obama campaign, where the Obama campaign will focus, if he thinks Palin will win any female crossover votes, and more.
