Convention Talk with Phyllis Schlafly

Phyllis Schlafly is a lawyer as well as the author or editor of 20 books on subjects as varied as family and feminism. She has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972, when she started her national volunteer organization now called Eagle Forum. Her monthly newsletter, The Phyllis Schlafly Report, is now in its 41st year. Her syndicated column appears in 100 newspapers, her radio commentaries are heard daily on 460 stations, and her radio talk show on education called "Eagle Forum Live" is heard weekly on 45 stations. Both can be heard on the Internet.
Phyllis briefly discussed plans for "The Life of the Party" party sponsored by the Republican National Coalition for Life (RNC/Life) that will be held on Tuesday, September 2, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in St. Paul, Minnesota, from 4pm-6pm as part of the 2008 Republican National Convention. This event will be a gatheirng of hundreds of pro-life Republican delegates from around the nation. The star attraction will be the governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.
Phyllis also presented her views on John McCain, Barack Obama and his pick for V.P. Joe Biden, her overall impression of the Republican Party and the disenchantment some feel toward the party today, as well as the most important issues facing America today.
