Host:Adam McManus
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Guest host Adam McManus is host of the "The Adam McManus Show", a daily talk program on KSLR radio, AM630, in San Antonio, Texas.

Adam highlighted two events planned by Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church, and author of the "Purpose Driven" books.

One is a joint appearance at the church by presumptive Presidential nominees, Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain. Warren will ask all the questions, one candidate at a time, and has pledged to avoid controversial social issues including Abortion, and Homosexual "marriage". The conference is jointly sponsored by "Faith in Public Life", a liberal non-profit organization that was formed to counter what they call the "Religious Right", which is seen as focusing on issues like abortion and homosexuality, but ignoring "justice" and the "common good". The organization's board president is Meg Riley, a Unitarian Universalist minister who previously ran the denomination's homosexual advocacy office, and among those on the board are other theological liberals including a pro-abortion Muslim leader, and a Jewish rabbi.

The other is an "interfaith" conference in which 30 Christian, Jewish, and Muslim leaders will gather "to discuss cooperation for the common good of all Americans." Tom McMahon, president of the Berean Call ministry, says these activities are being used to introduce evangelicals to the social gospel Warren learned from his mentor, social scientist, Peter Drucker. McMahon says that Rick Warren's belief that the church must take the lead in solving the world's problems of poverty, disease, and war cannot be reconciled with the scriptures.
