Jim Schneider cleared the newswire to update listeners on the following stories of interest to the Christian community.

-Liberty Counsel issued a press release this week concerning the California Supreme Court. They rejected the case that was brought by same-sex marriage advocates who intended to prevent California voters from voting on the California Marriage Protection Act this coming November.

-The Massachusetts Senate voted this past Tuesday to repeal their 1913 law used to bar out of state same-sex couples from marrying in their state.

-Christians facing possible prison terms in Brazil for speaking out against homosexuality if their Senate passes a bill that was approved unanimously by its House of Representatives.

-The U.S. Census Bureau will not count same sex marriages in it's 2010 report.

-Alliance Defense Fund attorney files lawsuit Monday on behalf of a licensed counselor who was fired after referring a person seeking counsel over a same-sex relationship to a colleague, rather than attempt to provide a service that would conflict with her sincerely held religious beliefs on homosexual behavior.

-South Carolina's taxpayer paid advertisement describing itself as "so gay" has backfired and could cost the state tourism dollars.

-Madison, Wisconsin, paper reports that a "queer spelling bee" will take place on July 19th.

-According to a press release from the Americans United for Separation of Church and State, their organization, along with the A.C.L U., have urged a federal appeals court to deny tax funding to a Baptist Child Care Agency that proselytizes youngsters in its care and fires gay employees.

-Oregon voters hope that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will uphold their efforts to protect natural marriage when pro-family activists begin collecting petition signatures for a ballot initiative to repeal Oregon's domestic partnership law.

-Former President Clinton says he's ready to campaign for Barack Obama.

-News anchors from the big three networks will be traveling to the Middle East and Europe with Barack Obama.

-John McCain stops in Kansas City and defends his pro-life stance.

-McCain sends mixed message on gay adoption.

-Ron Paul supporters mourn loss of gay political operative.

-Another young person has been dehydrated to death in the same hospice in Florida where Terri Schiavo died.

-An abortion practitioner who has been charged with manslaughter after killing one of his patients in a legal abortion that failed plans to present a not guilty plea to the charges.
