Stephen Bloom is the author of The Believer's Guide to Legal Issues. He's a Christian attorney with more than 20 years experience in private practice. He is a frequent speaker and writer on Christianity and the law, and a lecturer in Management and Business at Messiah College. Steve has been actively involved in the leadership of numerous community and ministry organizations, including his church, where he serves as a Certified Lay Speaker. He is a longtime member of the Christian Legal Society.
Stephen was not a believer when he graduated from law school. After becoming a born-again believer he was genuinely surprised to see how much of Scripture is directly relevant to everyday legal situations.
Stephen mentions that because of the large number of attorneys and lawyers listed in the Yellow Pages of most any phone book, it appears as though the solution to conflict is simply to go to these individuals for help. While that is the proper choice in some situations, God has his own unique outlook concerning legal issues that should be considered first. He explains to listeners how viewing such issues from God's perspective can help us avoid the litigation trap.
It's from this perspective that Stephen discusses the biblical view of issues such as bankruptcy, prenuptial agreements, estate planning, divorce, taxes, and more.
