Best of Crosstalk (First Aired July 16, 2008)

Host:Jim Schneider
Guest:Rich Christiano
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Rich Christiano is a Christian film writer, director and producer.

Rich believes that the biggest problem the church faces today is in the area of secular entertainment movies. Although some film companies have faith based divisions, Rich explains that the motive of these companies is not to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. In contrast, Rich bases his film making efforts on John 15:5.

Rich notes how there are movies flooding into the marketplace that may mention God once, or are "squeaky clean" family friendly films. These are being pushed off as Christian films but if they don't point to Christ, they aren't Christian films.

In short, while Rich does want to make evangelistic films, he also wants to create projects that will provoke, challenge and motivate people to win others to Jesus Christ.

This Crosstalk examines 4 of Rich's films. They include:

The 1990 film called, "The Appointment". This film stresses the urgency of making certain you come to know Christ before your appointed time.

The 1992 film, "Second Glance". This film is a Christian version of the secular holiday classic, It's a Wonderful Life. It's an inspiring film geared toward teens with a strong message in the areas of purity and dating.

There's "End of the Harvest", a movie produced in 1998 that is based upon an end-times theme.

The UFO related movie entitled, "Unidentified".
