Ingrid began by reading a quote from Rick Warren in a recent press release:
"At a wedding, the bride is the main character; the center, the start of the show. Everyone else is supporting cast, but the glory goes to the bride. Warren went on to say in this press release, "The peace plan is built on the same principle. The bride of Christ of which the church is its local expression around the world deserves the focus, the credit, and the glory for faithfully serving their communities year after year."
Worldnet Daily Editor and columnist, Joseph Farrah, wrote a piece challenging Rick Warren concerning this statement. The name of the column is, "Give the Glory to God." In his column Farrah describes the conference recently held by Warren at which his new PEACE Coalition was introduced. The coalition is an international alliance of churches, business, ministries, universities, and other institutions. The purpose of the coalition is to solve social ills such as poverty and sickness with the help of other religions, governments and businesses. Farrah, however, goes on to properly show how it's the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, that is to receive the glory when good works are done by believers.
Ingrid also looks at who is joining Warren in this peace coalition effort, as well as how Rick Warren is on the Advisory Council of Tony Blair's newly unveiled Faith Foundation, an organization formed to bring the Abrahamic faiths together to fight social ills.
Ingrid asks, where is the Gospel in all of this? How can a man-centered, social gospel that requires partnership with those in opposition and rebellion to the explicit word of God give glory to Christ?
