Friday News Roundup

Host:Vic Eliason
Guest:Troy Newman
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Troy Newman is the Director of Operation Rescue West of Wichita, Kansas.

Troy considers Wichita, Kansas, to be the abortion capital of the world because infamous Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller does more second and third trimester abortions than anyone else in the world.

In addition, there are allegations that people die as part of some of these abortions. In fact, Troy noted that he has the autopsies to prove it. In response, he began a citizen led grand jury to investigate Mr. Tiller.

The problem concerning Tiller, is that it's almost impossible to get any agency in Kansas to pursue criminal charges against him because he has a very important ally. That ally is Governor Kathleen Sebelius.

Tiller is being investigated by the Kansas attorney general's office. Troy said this stems from former Kansas Attorney General Phil Kline's initial investigation going back to 2003. So Mr. Tiller is under 19 criminal indictments.

Through the Kansas Open Records Act, Troy was able to obtain information concerning a lavish party held in April 2007 for Tiller's entire abortion clinic staff. Troy said the party was hosted by Governor Kathleen Sebelius and paid for by taxpayers. He believes the governor is lying about it saying that it was simply an affair by the Greater Kansas City Women's Caucus and that Mr. Tiller simply bid on this dinner with the governor, and she had no control over who would bid on it and who would attend.
