William Federer is a nationally known speaker, the president of the publishing company known as Amerisearch, Inc., a former U.S. congressional candidate, and a best selling author. His latest book is The Original 13: A Documentary History of Religion in America's First 13 States.
This Crosstalk does a tremendous job of describing how the various Christians sects founded the original 13 states, and how this affected the crafting of the First Amendment in keeping any one denomination from becoming the dominant national religion.
The program moves rapidly along showing how The Irish Potato Famine, The Black Codes, and Evolution created a paradigm shift whereby the Supreme Court began to take away state freedoms, putting them under federal jurisdiction and how this has affected America's perspective of religious freedom.
NOTE: This program first aired on January 29, 2007
