African-American Christian Fired for Views on Homosexuality

Matt Barber is the Constitutional Attorney and Policy Director for Cultural Issues with Concerned Women for America.
Matt Barber joined Vic Eliason to discuss news concerning Crystal Dixon, an African-American woman who was Associate Vice President of Human Resources at the University of Toledo. She responded to an article in the Toledo Free Press written by the paper's Editor-in Chief, Michael S. Miller. The article compared immoral and changeable homosexual behavior with inate and immutable characteristics such as skin color and physical disability. Her response caused her to be suspended and eventually fired by university President, Lloyd Jacobs, in what amounts to a prima facie violation of the U.S. Constitution, Ohio's state constitution and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Vic also gave brief mention of the latest news out of California where the State Supreme Court, in a 4 to 3 decision, overturned the state's ban on homosexual marriage. Governor Schwarzenegger has promised he will uphold the ruling.
