Societal Consequences of Immorality

Vic began this Crosstalk by reading the text of an article from a U.K. paper called, "The Daily Mail". The article, entitled "Family Life in Meltdown in Britain," presents the comments of a family judge who told a group of assembled peers that British society is in meltdown due to the breakup of the traditional family. In fact, the judge feels the collapse of the family unit is a threat to the U.K. that is as bad as terrorism, crime, drugs and global warming.

If we are honest with ourselves, here in America our situation is no less tragic. Vic cited information from Fox News where it's been reported that divorce and out of wedlock births costs the United States taxpayers more than 112 billion dollars per year.

The evangelical church should have the answer. What is the response?

Vic noted an article by ABC News commentator Susan Donaldson James. The article reveals a disturbing trend among some evangelicals and their pastors who seem to be placing an emphasis on sexuality.

Vic encouraged the church to be the church and deal with this issue of the "pornification" of America and stop the movement of licentiousness being promoted in the name of Christian freedom; a movement that is doing nothing more than to bring shame to the name and cause of Christ.
