Matt Barber is the Policy Director for Cultural Issues for Concerned Women for America.
Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern gave a speech on January 10th to fellow Republicans. According to Barber she essentially said that homosexual behaviors and the homosexual agenda is destroying our moral fiber and this is a greater threat to our moral fabric than radical Islam. She received over 30,000 e-mails and phone calls, some that can be construed as death threats.
In response there were 50 pastors who came together yesterday and brought members of their congregation for what turned out to be a packed gathering of support for Representative Kern at the the Oklahoma State Capitol Rotunda. In addition to 2000 gathered inside the building, at least a thousand more were outside, unable to get into the capitol building.
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) was also discussed. This bill pits the government directly against the free exercise of religion. This would force Christian, Jewish and Muslim business owners who honor their faith to embrace gay rights and not allow them to consider someone's sexual behavior and morality in hiring and firing.
Other stories Jim mentioned included:
-A pro-homosexual Massachusetts commission declares homophobic parents as the number one risk factor and the biggest problem in hindering their efforts to help depressed LGBT youths.
-Next month trans gender activists will decend on Capitol Hill to lobby member of congress to include gender identity and expression within ENDA.
-McDonald's has announced plans to promote the homosexual agenda aggressively.
