Robert Spencer is the Director of Jihad Watch. He is a weekly columnist for Human Events and Front Page Magazine, and has written seven books and over 200 articles about jihad and Islamic terrorism.
According to Spencer, a big problem with the Muslim Students Association is their pattern of intimidation against speakers, and denying them the right to speak when the speaker has something to say that they disagree with. He believes that university administrators should not stand for this kind of behavior. Unfortunately, all too often, these administrators are afraid of these groups and therefore give in to intimidation.
Spencer says that the Muslim Students Association has been linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. The MSA was named within a 1991 Brotherhood memorandum, uncovered during the Holy Land Foundation trial. This foundation was at one time the largest Islamic charity in the U.S. There was a trial last summer charging that this foundation had been funneling money to Hamas, the group fighting against Israel.
In this Muslim Brotherhood memorandum, it said that the Brotherhood was dedicated, in America, to "...a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within..."
Spencer reminds listeners that not all Muslims are here for terrorist purposes. However, some view their existence here as part of their Islamic responsibility and they are available for the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Muslim Students Association, and other Islamic groups. They are working to subvert Western civilization from within and replace our system of constitutional law with Islamic law.
