Christian Response to the Day of Silence

Host:Jim Schneider
Guest:Channon Clark and Peter LaBarbera
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

The opening segment was a follow-up to yesterday's Crosstalk, and featured a Vic Eliason interview with Channon Clark of Richland Electric, a small electric co-op in Southwest Wisconsin. Channon explained that there would be no disconnection of electrical service for 24 year old Gerard Hihn, a Richland Center, Wisconsin, man who, as mentioned on yesterday's Crosstalk, was injured in a car accident in 2002. The accident has caused him to need the help of a ventilator, therefore a possible electrical disconnection would have been a life and death situation.

Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth, discussed the Day of Silence that taking place in public schools nationwide this Friday, April 25. This is a day where students are allowed to remain silent in order to bring attention to the alleged discrimination and harassment of those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans gender in their orientation.

Celebration of this day shows that not only have the schools been infiltrated by homosexual teachings, but its recognition helps build upon a series of activist events. These include the Trans gender Day of Remembrance, Ally Week, and more activities designed to promote the homosexual agenda.

Peter encouraged parents to call the school their children attend to find out if the school is participating in the Day of Silence. Some schools, however, claim they don't endorse the day, even though they are participating. In light of this, Peter instructed listeners to ask the school if they are allowing silence in the classroom both by students and teachers. If the answer is "yes," he recommended that parents tell the school, preferably in writing, that they will keep their children home that day.
