Jan Markell is the founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries. Jan has been involved in the arena of messianic prophecy ministry since 1975 when she got her start with Jews for Jesus, as well as serving on the staff of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. She's written 8 books that in total have sold over a half-million copies as well as having written 300 articles for publications around the world. She joined Vic Eliason to discuss the latest developments in the peace efforts of former president Jimmy Carter.
Jimmy Carter, at age 83, is still traveling the world visiting despots and tyrants, apparently believing that all it takes to build world peace is to show good faith to the leaders of evil. For example, yesterday he met with Hamas terrorists in his latest campaign to leave himself a legacy. This latest, self-appointed, foreign policy excursion is such a violation of common sense that even the Washington Post is appalled.
Jan believes Carter has bought into the lie that world peace depends upon the creation of a Palestinian state that will allow the Israelis and Palestinians to get along. He feels Israel shouldn't be allowed to have extreme military capability while at the same time, Hamas is covenantally committed to the destruction of Israel.
Jan describes individuals like Carter and "Purpose Driven" pastor Rick Warren as individuals that seem to have a messianic vision of themselves in being able to create world peace. Jan called this "delusional."
She believes this all goes back to 1979-80 with Carter's decision to abandon Iran to Ayatollah Khomeini's implemented rule. She feels this was responsible for Iraq's attack on Kuwait, the Soviet incursion of Afghanistan, the rise of the Taliban, Hamas, and Al-Qaeda. In short, she blames Jimmy Carter for destabilizing the world.
Jan also mentioned a free prophecy conference coming up September 26-27 called, Understanding the Times. The location is Grace Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
