NRB Update and Direction
| Host: | Vic Eliason |

Having just returned from the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, Vic Eliason used this Crosstalk to point to the continuing trend in Christian broadcasting where he sees more effort being devoted to technology, entertainment, and marketing, rather than to the teaching of the Word of God.
It's from this perspective that Vic presents a letter he shared with Christian media. It outlines some of the obvious problems in America while contrasting these with what took place at the NRB Convention. This convention featured a "comedy night" as well as a meet and greet with the airbrushed celebrities of music called, "Monday Night Madness."
Is there not a higher standard that should be maintained? Should Christian churches and Christian broadcasters compromise the message of the gospel to match certain techniques that the marketers say should be used to reach people? If the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, why do some feel it has to be wrapped up in such carnal and worldly packaging in order for people to accept it?
This Crosstalk also features comments from listeners as they share their views concering the various changes that are taking place in the realm of the dissemination of the Gospel.
