This Crosstalk dealt with the battle for biblical truth on Christian college and university campuses in the United States. Ingrid cited the example of Cedarville University in Ohio which is now the scene of a battle over the influence of emerging authors and speakers and their postmodern theology. It is a battle that has already been lost on some campuses.
At bottom, the issue in dispute is whether we can or cannot know truth with certainty. Cedarville has sparked controversy by their invitation and then cancellation of theological liberal and emerging author, Shane Claiborne, as well as several other emerging speakers like Donald Miller and Epicopalian priestess, Rev. Beth Maynard. Ingrid also pointed out that a postmodern theologian from the Roman Catholic University of Dayton, Dr. Brad Kallenberg, is scheduled to speak in Cedarville's chapel February 11, 12, and 13. This is an author and teacher who is endorsed by emerging apostate, Brian McLaren.
Why would a Christian college bring in speakers that present an unbiblical message of postmodernism without thoroughly warning impressionable students about the dangers? Callers bring their views to the table on this edition of Crosstalk.
