This program deals with a controversial article written by Brannon Howse, the Founder and President of the Christian Worldview Network.
Vic begins the program by quoting from Brannon's article where he said, "When Hillary and Obama win the White House, you can thank pro-family leaders for not being leaders."
Brannon began a defense of his article by quoting pro-family leader Gary Bauer. Bauer contends that Governor Mike Huckabee's decision to remain in the GOP race threatens to derail Mitt Romney's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, thereby making it easier for the nomination to go to Arizona Senator John McCain.
So what's problematic about a pro-family leader backing someone other than Mike Huckabee? It has to do with the issue of life. Brannon notes how Bauer's criticism of the pro-life Huckabee is the kind of thinking from pro-family leaders that appears to be widespread and can be heard from individuals like James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Pat Robertson, Jay Sekulow and others. These leaders have either been backing candidates other than Huckabee, backing none of them, or sitting on the sidelines criticizing every candidate and not saying which one they support.
As biblical Christians, Brannon believes that the most important issue on our docket should be the issue of life. He admits that there are social spending problems with Huckabee, and that when picking a candidate there are other issues that must be considered as well, but in the end, as Christians, we must begin with the life-issue. Brannon explains how this plays into the issue of national health care and what he feels would be the eventual need for active euthanasia.
For Brannon, the bottom line is this: He thanks the previously mentioned pro-family leaders for their accomplishments, but he feels these leaders are not convicted to the core on their biblical, theological doctrine and hence, they should get off the stage and retire.
