Ingrid began this edition of Crosstalk by mentioning the upcoming appearance of Warren Smith, January 12th, at a VCY America rally being held at the Waukesha Expo Center. Warren Smith is the author of books such as The Light That Was Dark, a book that details how he came out of the darkness of the New Age.
Ingrid followed this with audio from an interview with Bill Dallas, President of Christian Communication Networks, one of the sponsors and founders of the upcoming Rethink Conference taking place at Robert Schuller's Crystal Cathedral. Speakers will include: Chuck Colsen, Kay Warren, Lee Strobel, Gary Smalley, Larry King, Ben Stein, George Foreman, President George Bush Senior, and others.
The purpose of the interview goes beyond trying to find out why some of evangelical's most popular speakers are getting together with secular industry leaders to find out how to be on the cutting edge. It also seeks to find out why Schuller's Crystal Cathedral was chosen as the venue.
Ingrid's attempt to get an explanation concerning this location choice is important as Warren Smith proves when he becomes the focus for the second half of the program. Warren ties together many loose ends as he connects the theology of Robert Schuller with New Age/New Spirituality proponents such as Jerry Jampolski, Oprah Winfrey, Marianne Williamson and others.
