Carl Froede, Jr. is the author of the newly released book, Geology by Design: Interpreting Rocks and Their Catastrophic Record.
Non biblical views of geology generally communicate that sedimentary deposits were slowly formed over very long periods of time. This philosophy leads people to believe that the rocks reveal an old earth, an idea that simply isn't supported by the scientific evidence. Carl, instead, believes the rocks cry out for a Creator, as well as judgment by a great flood in the recent past.
Carl notes, for example, that when rock hunting you might come across granite, a type of rock that may reflect the heat of the flood. You may come across limestone that can reveal shells of clams and snails. This reflects flood deposits. As you get closer to the coastal plain, you may see sand, silt and clay which shows the close of the flood and the onset of the Ice Age.
How are fossils formed? What can be suggested from the recent dinosaur soft tissue discovery? What are ripple marks? What about mud cracks? These questions and others are answered on this fascinating edition of Crosstalk.
