Values Voter Debate Preview

Host:Vic Eliason
Guest:Janet Folger and Mat Staver
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Vic Eliason hosted this edition of Crosstalk from the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Vic was broadcasting from this location because this is the venue that was chosen to hold the Values Voters Debate organized by Janet Folger. This debate is history in the making because it will allow the organizers to reach listeners via the Internet and viewers via satellite communication, bypassing the major media in order to ask questions of presidential candidates that the major media would otherwise avoid.

Originally this debate was to include a separate evening for Democratic candidates. All of those candidates declined to participate. Even some Republican candidates are not expected to appear. These include Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain and Fred Thompson.

Questions will be coming from a unique panel of individuals including someone who was aborted as well as the wife of a jailed border guard. Question topics will include religious liberty, the nation of Israel, border security, immigration, the sanctity of human life, the marriage amendment and more.
