Anita Dittman's amazing story is the focus of the book, Trapped in Hitler's Hell, an effort produced with the help of Jan Markell.
From her birth into a comfortably wealthy family in a large city in East Germany, to her discovery of her talent in dance, to the separation from her mother during the reign of Hitler, Anita Dittman's story is one of real life reliance upon God.
Weaved through all of this is the fact that Anita's mother was of Jewish ancestry. This eventually meant great persecution for Anita, much of which came in the form of hard labor under the iron fist of the Nazi Party.
Managing to escape into friendly hands, an infection put her in the hospital, but even there she recalls how God protected her from a staff member that was more intent on killing Anita rather than healing her.
Anita's story moves on as she details the reunion with her mother after the war had ended and her joyful arrival in America on June 18, 1946.
