E. Ray Moore is the Director of Exodus Mandate Project.
Sadly, Moore reports that within the category of public school children that are evangelical and from Bible based families, 70-80% of them are abandoning the church early in their adult years.
One of the reasons that Moore feels is an excuse for sending these children into public education is the salt and light argument. While it's true that to be salt and light is a general command of behavior for all Christians, if you look at the biblical text in Matthew 5:13-14, there is no command to put your children in harms way or in a pagan and aggressively anti-Christian system.
According to Moore, additional incentive for removing your children from public education comes from the fact that we have about a dozen U.S. Supreme Court decisions since the Everson case in 1947 that have officially defined state run public education as anti-Christian and pagan. So there's no biblical basis for Christian parents to be putting their children under a system of false doctrine.
