This Crosstalk features a speech by Ray Comfort, given at a Worldview Weekend Conference in Branson Missouri. Ray Comfort is with Way of the Master and Living Waters Ministries. He spoke on how to bring Children to Christ, and how to keep them there.
Ray quoted a 2002 statistic from a major U.S. denomination claiming that 88% of children raised in evangelical homes leave the church at age 18 and never return. This is why it's vitally important to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he shall not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
How can parents do this? Ray outlines 7 steps in the process. They include:
1. Become familiar with the biblical reality of true and false conversions
2. Trust the author of the instruction book
3. Never give in to moral compromise
4. Establish a family altar
5. Teach your children the Ten Commandments
6. Teach your children the fear of the Lord
7. Be a good example to your children
