The immigration bill currently in the Senate tries to establish a pathway to citizenship for the 12 million plus illegal aliens. Under this bill, illegals can be legalized, but it never requires that they become official U.S. citizens.
This approach communicates to the rest of us that our government is giving up on our current immigration laws, they don't want to enforce them, or perhaps don't have the backbone to do so.
This topic has other branches of discussion ranging from the NAFTA Superhighway, English as the official language, and other aspects that are covered on this edition of Crosstalk.
