The Donna Joy Story

Host:Vic Eliason
Guest:Lori Vance
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

In the Fall of 1991 Lori Vance was carrying her 3rd child. 7 months into the pregnancy she was told the baby might not live through the rest of the pregancy. Her baby had little or no brain, was suffering from hydrocephalus and had a badly deformed brain stem. Lori was told that the only treatment option was a partial birth abortion.

Lori took the baby, named Donna Joy, to full term and good health in spite of the fact that physicians viewed this baby's life as hopeless. In fact, right after her birth, doctors attempted starvation and refused to give the baby relief from the pain of 2 and a half pounds of fluid on her skull.

Lori's perseverence and success led her to get politically involved in the partial birth abortion battle, details which she shares on this edition of Crosstalk.
