HR 1592 Hate Crimes Bill

Host:Jim Schneider
Guest:Tom McClusky
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Tom McClusky is Vice President for Governmental Affairs with the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. He joined Jim Schneider with an update on legislation that could stifle the free speech of Christians.

HR 1592 is being called the most dangerous bill in America. The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 is on a fast track. This hate crimes/thought crimes legislation passed out of committee last week and will be voted on soon, most likely within the next week and a half.

This legislation creates a category of victim ranking. In other words, if you fit into a certain category, you are allowed special treatment if you are a victim of a violent crime. If you don't fit one of the special categories, most notably that of being a homosexual, you are put into a different caste, and the crime committed against you is of lesser importance.

Jim and Tom encouraged listeners to call their elected representatives at the numbers listed below to express their thoughts concerning this vital issue.
