Today, more than ever, Christians need to put on the full armor of God. As Ingrid points out, we are facing a time of intense delusion in the church and if we are not fully grounded on the Word of God, we will be swept away by the tsunami of false doctrine that exists today.
Building on this theme, author and researcher Claris Van Kuiken joined Ingrid for discussion on the topic of Emergent Church theology.
Claris shares her experience of being part of a church that had consultants come in to analyze why they weren't growing. The consultants recommended a "natural church development process." As she researched the recommended reading resources she was disturbed by the fact that the writings of the recommeded authors promoted aspects of Eastern mysticism, occultism and contemplative prayer.
Various members of this emerging movement are discussed; most notably Brian McClaren. His latest book, The Secret Message of Jesus, introduces the cosmic Christ of the New Age and does so under the guise of Christianity.
