Importance of Sovereign Borders

Dr. Chuck Baldwin is a radio talk show host, as well as the pastor of Crossroad Baptist Church in the Pensacola, Florida area.
At the Tower of Babel, man attempted a merging of people for ungodly purposes. God intervened by confounding the people with various languages. It's from that point where you see God establishing nationhood.
This scenario appears to be playing itself out once again as politicians from both parties want to merge America into a regional North American government. In order to do this, America cannot continue as a sovereign nation, therefore the borders must be removed.
Dr. Baldwin believes Bush has been the biggest culprit in this matter. He cites the fact that nearly half of all illegal immigrants we have today have come in since Bush was first elected president.
Are true conservatives ready to ditch the Republican party over the issue of borders? Is the evangelical community united on issues such as the borders and loss of sovereignty?
