Attorney Bruce Short is the author of the book, The Harsh Truth About Public Schools. He's with Exodus Mandate, an organization that encourages parents to seek a godly, Christian education for their children.
Bruce began the program reviewing the topic from the 2/9 Crosstalk that concerned Melissa Busekros, the 15 year old girl who was attending public school in Germany. She was doing well in most of her studies but having some trouble with two classes so her parents decided to home school her.
Eventually authorities took custody of Melissa and checked her into a psychiatric ward where she is being treated for "school phobia."
Having been raised in a teaching family and having attended public school himself, Bruce discusses where the salt and light should come from for those in the public school environment, how school crime is being underreported, and how in general, public education is a tool for inculcating children with the worldview of whatever group happens to control the public school mechanism.
