Paul Tautges is the pastor of Emmanuel Bible Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Today, far too many couples base their marriages on feelings. The problem is, feelings don't last very long and they don't provide a solid basis for a God pleasing marriage.
Speaking on the biblical concept of marriage and love, on this edition of Crosstalk, pastor Tauches focused on the role of the husband in a successful marriage.
Tautges emphasized Ephesians 5:25, the verse where the apostle Paul urges men to love their wives as Christ loved the church. This is something that is constantly to be obeyed.
How is this to be done? By modeling Christ's love to the wife through sacrificial love, sanctifying love, sustaining love, severing love, and serving love.
Tautges expounds on these attributes of love and explains that when they shine forth from the husband, it makes it easier, in fact, it makes it a joy for the wife to respond to the husband's leadership.
