Where is Evangelicalism Going?

Host:Vic Eliason
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

On this edition of Crosstalk, Vic Eliason looks at the term, "evangelical" and where this label has come to rest as we get ready to embark upon a new year.

Today there are some churches that look no different than community centers. Other churches have outreaches that attempt to create godliness via worldly psychological techniques. There are those that support efforts such as Christian yoga centers, while others engage in holy laughter. These and many more examples could be cited that speak of the carnality and compromise that's being executed in the name of "evangelicalism."

By using such techniques and evangelical buzz words, are we generating converts to art forms and techniques as we attempt to draw a crowd, rather than drawing people to the God of the Bible?

Vic Eliason comments on a few examples of individuals that have been touted as leaders in this new evangelical movement; people such as Bill Hybels and Rick Warren, as well as so-called evangelical political figures like Barack Obama.
