State of the Church

Ingrid began this edition of Crosstalk with a quote from Dr. John MacArthur's upcoming book coming out this Spring entitled, The Truth War. The quote set the tone for the program which concerned the attack on truth and how this is affecting the state of the church.

Ingrid then played an audio cut from a singer singing John Lennon's humanist anthem entitled, "Imagine." This song was chosen as the background music for a peace team video produced by Rick Warren's Saddleback Church and the team's trip to Argentina.

Interestingly, the photographs of the missionaries do not show them reading from the Bible. Instead, the missionaries are shown passing out Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life book.

Ingrid then told the story of some young men who were concerned about what was taking place in their church. The young men began by approaching the pastor but the pastor told them to leave the church. Rather than leave quietly, they respectfully wrote a statement of concern to the leadership and posted it on the church door in the spirit of Martin Luther.
