Saddleback AIDS Conference

Host:Ingrid Schlueter
Guest:Jim Brown and Brannon Howse
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Jim Brown is with American Family Radio and Brannon Howse is the president of the Christian Worldview Network and Worldview Weekends.

Ingrid and her guests discussed the appearances and speeches made by the keynote speakers at the global AIDS summit at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church last week.

According to Brown, Pro-abortion senator Barack Obama acknowledged abstinence, but he also mentioned that condom accessibility needs to improve in third world countries. To this, Warren and his wife both nodded in approval and joined the audience applause.

Bush homosexual global AIDS coordinator, Mark Dybal talked about the 15 billion dollars to be used to fight AIDS over the next 5 years, along with the Bush Administration's A-B-C philosophy: Abstain/Be Faithful/Condoms. Here again we see the double-speak where abstinence gets mentioned but condoms are considered the answer for those who choose promiscuous lifestyles.

Brown spoke positively about the speeches of Dennis Rainy and Franklin Graham. Rainy talked about the worldwide orphan crisis while Graham spoke about the need for people to come to a personal relationship with Christ.

In summary, Brown mentioned that while there was a moving salvation testimony by Rick Warren's wife, there was no mention of repentance or the blood atonement by Rick Warren during any of the sessions.
